Scenes and transitions
A reel is a headline followed by scenes. Each scene has its own length and a transition that brings it in.
Scene types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Device | Your recording in a laptop, phone, tablet or browser frame. |
| Image | A picture or screenshot, like the old site for a before shot. |
| Text | A line of text on its own, between scenes. |
| Call to action | A closing question, a price line and your contact details. |
| 3D scene | Real 3D devices with camera moves and lighting. See 3D scenes. |
Steps
- Click Add scene above the scenes list and choose a type. The new scene goes after the selected one.
- Select a scene to change it in the Scene tab on the right.
- Set Duration to how long it stays on screen.
- Under Transition in, choose how it arrives:
- Morph reshapes the previous device into this one, like a laptop into a phone. It needs a device scene right before.
- Fade, Slide, Zoom and Flip are classic transitions.
- Hand off continues from a 3D scene's device into a flat one.
- Set the Length of the transition, and its Easing: smooth, fast then slow, slow then fast, overshoot or steady.
- Drag the handle on the left of a scene to reorder it, or focus the handle, press Space and use the arrow keys.
Tips
- Start recording at picks which part of the recording a scene shows, so two scenes can show different parts of the same site.
- The ... menu on a scene duplicates or deletes it. Delete removes the focused scene.
- A reel can have up to 20 scenes and run up to 3 minutes.
