Dragging and positioning
Click anything on the preview to select it, then drag it where you want it.
Steps
- Click an element on the preview: the device, the caption, the headline, a layer or an overlay.
- Drag it to move it. It snaps to the centre, the edges, the safe zones and other elements. Hold Alt to turn snapping off.
- Drag a corner handle to resize, or the round handle above it to rotate. Hold Shift while rotating to snap to 15 degrees.
- Use the arrow keys to nudge the selection by one pixel, or with Shift by ten.
- Press Delete to remove a layer, or to put a moved built-in element (like the caption) back where it was.
Layers
In the Layers tab, Add gives you text, shapes, images and stickers. Each scene has its own layers, and layers under Whole reel show on top of every scene.
- Drag layers in the list to change what sits in front, or use Ctrl + ] and Ctrl + [ (Cmd on a Mac).
- Hide or lock a layer with the eye and lock buttons.
- Ctrl + D duplicates the selected layer.
- Each layer can have a fill or gradient, a shadow, an outline, entrance and exit effects, and loops.
Tips
- Positions are kept relative to the frame, so elements stay in place when you switch formats.
- Turn on Safe zones under the preview to keep text clear of TikTok and Reels buttons.
